This is a rather cool one.  Our Hockey Organization Website Software package has been very successfull, and we will be porting that package to other sports shortly.  However, one problem arose with that product:

Say a family had three children playing minor hockey.  Two play for two different teams in their hometown and the third plays for an elite level team out of town.  That family would have to check three different team pages to get all three schedules (which our package makes easy).

It would be better yet to combine all three schedules into one calendar.  Now they can with MyCal.

This is an auxillary website that we created that will allow people to combine the schedules from any site that *ahem* we make (need to make money somehow) and view them on the web or download in iCal format.  In the case of the sports organizations, they can pick and choose individual teams from the organization.

The site proudly uses several of the Telerik Prometheus controls:
  • RadScriptManager
  • RadStyleSheetManager
  • RadAjax
  • RadSplitter
  • RadTextBox
  • RadGrid
  • RadComboBox
  • RadScheduler
  • RadWindow
  • RadColorPicker

It uses the .NET 3.5 Framework and was created in Visual Web Developer 2008 in about 4 hours.  It also allows the user to pick from one of the several built-in Prometheus skins, including Black, Default, Mac, Office 2007, Outlook, Vista, Web 2.0, and WebBlue.  The standard ASP.NET Membership & Profile providers are used.

To enable all the themes and create a calendar you'll need to create an account (it's free, no worries there).  Go ahead and try it and let me know what you think!

Hello Shaun,

Thank you for this post and the referral.

We really like your application and the way you have integrated our Prometheus controls. In fact, we would be very happy to feature your application in our Client Spotlight section: http://www.telerik.com/community/client-spotlights.aspx. Would you be willing to add several screenshots to your overview below and elaborate a bit on the challenges you faced and the workarounds. We believe this website(Prometheus application) will not only make a great case study but also will be valuable for the community.

Although you can easily follow the structure of the already featured case studies, I thought I should include them here as well, for your convenience. Generally, the case study should be 1 or 2 pages long and should include the following sections:

1) Intro: short presentation of your company.

2) Project: description of your project including an overview of your objectives and anticipated challenges.

3) Reason to choose Telerik products: please explain why you chose our Prometheus controls and identify what specific features were most useful for your project.

4) Solution highlights: development time, number of developers on the project, development environment, supported databases, etc.

I will be looking forward to hearing back from you.

Best wishes,
Lidiya
