I primarily use the windows client...but I wanted to try the VS2013 extension.  However I'm a bit stumped...I was expecting like an open\load project option but I dont see that anywhere (File->open or under the appbuilder menu).  I've got a handful of windows client apps in my account...

What am I missing?

Hello Steve,

The Visual Studio client doesn't work in the cloud, at least not in the way the In-Browser and Windows clients do. It doesn't have access to the cloud storage where the Windows client stores your projects and you cannot therefore access your apps from it.

The Visual Studio client is designed to let you work mostly locally, only temporarily uploading your project files on our cloud - in order to have them built and LiveSynced during development. If you examine the AppBuilder menu you will also see the the Visual Studio client lets you remove all project files from the server at any given time.

If you would like to collaborate on a single project from multiple AppBuilder clients, then I would recommend configuring the project for collaboration following this tutorial. If you want to open one particular project manually, then you will have to export your project from the Windows client following these steps and then double click on the .abproject file. AppBuilder's extension can read this file and set up the project in Visual Studio for you.

I hope that makes sense but don't hesitate to write back with any concerns or questions.
