Is it possible to automate the Backstage Control without 2013 release?

Because of my other issue regarding TypeInitialisationException we are unable to upgrade to latest 2013 Test Framework. Is there a way of automating the backstage control without this?

Thank you for the clarification.

Yes there should not be a problem to test RadRibbon controls with our earlier versions of Testing Framework (e.g. 1527).
