I was just looking to see if anyone else had experienced the same grief I was having with ASP.NET Ajax RadComboBox, and I read in the Silverlight forum that a related issue had been found, fixed, and was available in a pre-release build.  I was wondering how many of us chase issues that have already been recognized, if not fixed.  I then wondered if we could subscribe to some list so that we know when some issue has been verified and possibly fixed.

My approach to debugging is to go through the docs, experiment, check this forum, and Google for general MS Ajax issues.  Each issue takes a minimum of about an hour, up through a few days to diagnose and resolve or workaround.  That's very expensive development.  It would really be helpful if we could subscribe to RSS and get notes like this:

Issues
- 831287 Confirmed issue for Silverlight library, setting SelectedIndex=-1 doesn't clear contents.
- 831289 Verified issue 831287 in Ajax library
Resolutions
- Build 2009.05.09 Fixed 831287 where SelectedIndex=-1 doesn't clear contents
...

I think a one-way email list would be too much of a burden on Telerik.  If they just kept a single page updated then we could bear the responsibility of keeping ourselves updated.

Some companies publish a full or partial version of their own issue log - not the general support log, but issues that have been confirmed, and _maybe_ they're scheduled for a change.  In the real world not all issues get approved for action, so "verified" isn't the same as "scheduled for a change" or even "approved for a change".  Access to information like this would at least let us know what's in the queue so that we know whether or not we should continue research.  It should help to decrease the burden on Telerik Support personnel here in the forums and in phone/email.

Hello Tony,

We have already started work on exposing some of the internal issue tracking system. We will provide an extension of our support section on the website where people will be able to see reported problems (feature requests) and follow their progress. You will be able to "vote" for a feature request (bug report) to increase its priority as well as subscribe for notifications whenever the status is changed.

Other neat features are planned as well. More details will be provided in the coming months.
Thank you for your patience.

Best wishes,
Ivo
