hi,

i am looking for a person that can use telerik components to build me a website in asp.net 1.0. does anyone have any recommendations?

this person should be an expert who can work quickly and efficiently without having to learn how to utilize the components.

also, i am looking for a cost-effective solution, so my guess is that the person is from india or similiar. if you're interested, let me know. i usually like working via messenger to make live update to the pages. tks!

ps: if you know .net that is a plus, because i'd like to run these pages via a windows application later that will lend us some more functionality (such as ftp, sync, and local folder creation).

Hi Oliver,

Can I ask why you are looking for ASP.NET 1.0?  That's 2002 technolgoy.  I would highly recommend using ASP.NET 2.0 unless there's a very specific reason for not doing so; or even ASP.NET 1.1 if you don't want 2.0.

Since 2.0 came out I've only been creating new stuff using 2.0, and have almost completed migrating all the 1.1 stuff over.  I'd be interested in helping out a 2.0 project, but I'm not in India.  I have, however, used the telerik suite for over a year and have a pretty good grasp on nearly all of the components.

hi Sean! yes i meant actually asp.net 1.1. My host doesn't support 2.0 so that is the primary reason. I tried another host, but they had limitations on media files and streaming and that is one of the key areas (music files) for which I need it. I, of course, wouldn't mind 2.0, it's just that i couldn't find one that was good enough in terms of space and bandwidth. currently, i have hostexcellence, which has worked fine so far (but only 1.1 support not 2.0 yet).

if you want feel free to drop me a message at andromeda@ureach.com and we can chat some more about some projects. talk to you soon!!

I would strongly suggest HostMySite.com as an alternative to your current hoster.  They do support streaming media; as well as ASP.NET 2.0; SQL Server 2005; etc. etc. etc.  I've ben using them for only a month and I've been blown away thus far (support that rivals the quality we all get from telerik); and their rates are pretty good I think.  Have a look and let me know if you'd be willing to go .NET 2.0.  I'm just not up for doing any more 1.1 stuff since I have "seen the light" with .NET 2.0.

tks for the link to that hosting service. the problem is that their bandwidth and disk space is not enough for me. with my current one i have unlimited disk space and much more bandwidth (hostexcellence.com). i am surprised at the meagre supply of hosting companies that support asp.net 2.0 and don't have a competitive rate. Fact is that there is no difference between asp.net 1.1 and 2.0 except for the developer. Sure it makes it easier to build certain things (membership, etc, etc), but for the end-user there is virutally no difference, since you can have the same things in asp.net 1.1 as in asp.net 2.0.
atlas framework only works in 2.0 but for that we have telerik anyway. so.....

Hi Oliver,

We're still firmly grounded in .Net 1.1 because of some long term projects that wouldn't be appropriate for conversion at this time.

Like Shaun, I'm a telerik MVP. I've been working with telerik controls for about 1.5 years. I also have two programmers who work for me that are fully licensed for telerik. We're not in India though, so I'm not sure if we'll fit into your budget constraints.

Feel free to email me your ideas and your financial targets. I'll review them and let you know if we can work together.
