Hello,
I am trying to visualize store shelves with a KML and with lat and long co-ordinates. I am working with 40,000 polygons to display 40,000 locations.
The system is using up more than half gig and it didn't complete the load. The KML file itself is 20meg.
Could you please respond if you can do something about it. The idea is to visualize entire store and show real time inventory and other vital information (with blinking polygons etc.,). Some stores can have 100K locations.
I can attach the KML file, if you want me to.

Hi Anil,
When loading we transform KML representations to map polygons which sit over the regular Silverlight polygons. It is close to impossible to visualize about 40000 polygons at the same time using Silverlight. I would recommend you using of the DynamicLayer instead. It implements idea of the items virtualization. You can see how it works here:

Thank you for the update.
Could you please let me know if telerik has an image map or something like that where I can put a static location image and overlay colors on top (for selective locations that need attention) and may be show a smaller mini map that shows zoomed information on that location (when we hover over it in the big map).
Could you please let me know what controls and events I can use to solve this.

Unfortunately we do not have MiniMap control for the moment. But we have it in our development plans for 2010.Q2 release. You can use our PITS system to check whether this feature is implemented already:
