I have been looking online for multiple hours now and none of the other forum threads have worked. When I have fiddler open with https decryption enabled, and the certificate trusted, it makes my internet stop working and does not decrypt anything. I have resetted the certificate and tried to uninstall, but fiddler does not show up in the installed program list. How do I uninstall fiddler or get my https decryption working?

Hi Tixs,

Sorry for the late reply.  I have resetted the certificate and tried to uninstall, but fiddler does not show up in the installed program list. How do I uninstall fiddler or get my https decryption working?

If Fiddler does not show up in the installed program list, most probably you have uninstalled it successfully. You could check if there is anything left in the Fiddler installation directory. The default one is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Fiddler

You could also check if there are any certificates left from Fiddler and delete them manually. Type 'Manage user certificates' in the Windows search box and press enter. This will open the certlm tool. Check in the: 'Personal\Certificates', 'Trusted Root Certification Authorities\Certificates', 'Intermediate Certification Authorities\Certificates' folders for any certificates which are issued to or issued by DO_NOT_TRUST_FiddlerRoot and delete them. Then type 'Manage computer certificates' and check there for the same certificates as well to delete them.

After that you could make a clean install of Fiddler and go to Tools\Options, the HTTPS tab and select the 'Decrypt HTTPS traffic' This will generate a new Fiddler HTTPS root certificate, which you could trust.

Regards,
Simeon
