Hi,

This might be an obvious answer to long term users of your forums, but:

We are in the process of comparing different programming frameworks for Web Automation (Selenium, Watin, WebAii) and cannot find an explicit statement on your site with regards to HTML5 and Silverlight5 support in the programming framework (only Test Studio).

Does the free WebAii programming framework support HTML5 or Silverlight5?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Grim,

Yes, we have support for HTML5 specific controls as documented in these two locations:
http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/online-api-reference/html/N_ArtOfTest_WebAii_Controls_HtmlControls.htm

http://www.telerik.com/automated-testing-tools/support/documentation/user-guide/recording-tests/translators/html5.aspx

Regarding Silverlight 5, our official statement is that Telerik does not support browsers/products in beta/non-released state. Silverlight 5 is currently in Release Candidate state which means officially Telerik does not support it. Bottom line that means we will, but not officially at this time.

Having said that, we did test whether or not we work with the current Silverlight 5 RC and were successful doing a minimum set of automation with it. You are free to try it and if it works for you then great. However we will not accept problem reports using Silverlight 5 until the final version is released to the public by Microsoft and we've had the chance to thoroughly test and work out any remaining problems (usually within 2 weeks of final release).

Kind regards,
Cody
