Hello,
I updated Fiddler today and the fonts are way too small on all of our devices. I have observed numerous complaints regarding this issue by others on the Internet.
I just learned on this forum that you do not support downloading a previous version. Too bad, but I understand your policy.
Hope this issue gets addressed soon.

We don't really block access to previous versions. We simply never deemed this usable and that's why we never implemented it.
However, the chances are a previous version will not solve the problem. We haven't really changed anything UI related in this release. My speculation is something changed in Windows.
What version did you upgrade from? We can provide the old version for test. Could you copy the second line from the Help->About window?

Hello,
I use Fiddler frequently and always update when recommended. I am assuming the old version preceded this release by one revision. Since it is gone, I have no way of checking.
v5.0.20181.13826 for .NET 4.6.1
Built: Monday, March 12, 2018
I have used Fiddler yesterday and earlier today without issue. The fonts only changed after the update.
Not sure how Windows could cause this, but there may be some hidden dependency.
On the net, most comments stated the issue was particularly bad on higher resolution displays, which we use.
Anyway, I hope to find a fix because I have to get within about 8 to 10 inches to read the text fields.
I'll start looking into Windows as the source.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this issue.

Hello,
I found a machine that wasn't updated and this is the version:
v5.0.20173.50948 for .NET 4.6.1
Built: Thursday, December 14, 2017
I finally found the Fiddler font setting and was able to make the HTTP and adjacent window fonts bigger (usable), but the distorted menu fonts do not change and all the toolbar menu fonts are still very small.
I can work with this hybrid configuration. I will just have to squint to read the menu/toolbar fields.
I will post again if I find a Windows change that is linked to this issue. We are running Windows 10 latest version on all machines.

I have this exact problem. Fiddler was working fine before I clicked yes to the upgrade.
This is my version:
v5.0.20181.13826 for .NET 4.6.1
Built: 12 March 2018
I have a surface book (so a high res screen) running windows 10.
I have completely uninstalled fiddler (including to remove previous settings) and reinstalled with no resolution.
The font settings change some aspects of the system but not dialog boxes and form fields (example attached of the auto responder window)
Happy to test an earlier version or provide more feedback.
Rather unfortunately, we are not able to reproduce the problem to its full extent locally. So, it would be really nice if you guys could help us a bit further. Here are the six previous public versions of Fiddler. What would help us is:
- What is the resolution of the monitor where Fiddler exhibits this problem?
- Are there other monitors on the system? What are their resolutions?
- What is the full Windows version?
- What is the most recent .NET version installed?
- Does any of the previous Fiddler versions behave differently? Which one?

Resolution with Issues
1920x1080 Dell Precision 3520 Laptops (this resolution seems to exhibit the worst case menu text cut off)
***** Windows 10 recommends 125% for the default display setting. *****
When connecting to the following external monitor, Windows automatically switches to 100%.
Tested a lower resolution Thinkpad, 1600x900, and the menu text is not cut off. Windows sets this display to 100%. When I change the settings to 125%, not recommended as default, I observe the cut off text.
It would appear that you can probably duplicate this on some of your devices.
I would like to note that the dialog text overwrites adjacent fields with your default settings. The issue can be corrected for dialogs that you allow to be scaled.
It would be very nice to have your application respond gracefully to text magnification settings since there are many visually impaired individuals using your product.
External Monitors
1920x1080 HP 25vx external monitor
After adding the external display, Windows warns to log off to make sure the settings take effect for all applications.
Logging off and on causes Fiddler to resize menu text so that it is not cut off.
***** Windows 10 automatically changes the display scaling to 100%. *****
The negative side effect is that ALL other applications scale fonts down and are much harder to read, so this is not a viable solution for us.
We normally only use the external monitors to tweak web application colors because we get the best cross-platform results.
Previous Fiddler Versions
I haven’t had time to try the older Fiddler version yet. I will try to fit in today or tomorrow.

Hello,
I uninstalled the latest version and installed 5.0.20173.50948.
The display issues are gone and everything seems to be working normally.
Fiddler offered to upgrade to the latest version, which I kindly refused.
Thanks for making the earlier versions available.
BTW, https://www.telerik.com/forums/previous-version link states that you do not make older versions available.
This is why I made my statement in my original post.
I would love to see a *** prominent link *** to the previous couple of versions for just this kind of scenario.
I have spent a lot of time on this issue. Had I immediately had access to the previous version, I would not have wasted hours tracking down and testing this issue.
Love your product. Thanks for the support on this issue.
Just a thought. :-)

I'm getting this as well.
This is on a surfacebook that runs 4 monitors on a docking station
OS is Win10 Pro version 1709 os build 16299.309
Displays:
3000x2000 200% scale
1280x1024 100% scale
1280x1024 100% scale
1920x1080 100% scale
1280x1024 100% scale
What would help us is:
What is the resolution of the monitor where Fiddler exhibits this problem?
3000x2000 200% scaling
I tried on 100% scaling and lower resolutions with no change.
Are there other monitors on the system? What are their resolutions?
I was connected to external monitors at a lower resolution and they had the issue too. I don't have their stats with me. The issue happens without external monitors too.
What is the full Windows version?
10.0.16299 build 16299
What is the most recent .NET version installed?
NET Framework 4.7.1
Does any of the previous Fiddler versions behave differently? Which one?
v5.0.20173.50948 for .NET 4.6.1 - works perfectly fine. I haven't gone back through the versions to test the others.
Same issue here. Just updated Fiddler and fonts are way small.
HP Spectre laptop. No other monitors.
3840 x 2160
Scale and Layout > 250% (recommended)
I'm going to try to uninstall and grab a previous version.
The latest version of Fiddler should fix this problem.

Alexander

Could you, please, elaborate on what your custom inspector is doing. Is it possible for you to share it so that we can reproduce the problem?
