I'm wondering when FiddlerHook will be released as a signed add-on for Firefox.

Mozilla has announced that in the near future, unsigned add-ons will no longer be alllowed to run.

Hello, Jim--

Mozilla has declined to sign our extension and has further indicated that they'll be removing their entire XUL extension model in about 18 months.

Fortunately, the FiddlerHook extension isn't required to use Fiddler with Firefox; please see http://www.telerik.com/blogs/configuring-firefox-for-fiddler for details.

Is that the same has happened with

     - Telerik Exploratory Testing Extension

     - Telerik Test Studio Automation

     - Telerik Test Studio Recorder

 on Firefox?

Hi Nhan,

The same happens only with Telerik Exploraetory Testing Extension.

Test Studio Automation and Recorder extensions are signed from FireFox as of version 2015.3 of Test Studio.

If you use that version you should not have any problems with them.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

A simple workaround is to desactivate Add-on signature verification :

- enter the config page of Firefox (in the Location bar) :  about:config

- search for :  xpinstall.signatures.required

- double-click on the line, it will switch it to "false"

- Your FiddlerHook add-on may now be activated and fully fonctionnal

!! Ensure that you have no unwanted add-on before unchecking signatures ..

Mat

Hi David,

Yes this is correct. However as Eric mentioned, fortunately, the FiddlerHook extension isn't required to use Fiddler with Firefox; please see http://www.telerik.com/blogs/configuring-firefox-for-fiddler for details.

Hope that helps.

The real loss of functionality is not being able to restrict Firefox from Fiddler.

My habit has been to keep Fiddler turned off in Firefox (using the Fiddlerhook option) and doing my Fiddler with IE or Chrome. That way, I don't have to close quite as many windows to keep noise out of the Fiddler trace. (As it is, many WinHTTP clients end up in the trace.)

Thank you Craig, it works great in my 54.0 Firefox.
