Hello Yassin,

Thank you for your interest in Fiddler!

Please consider providing more detailed information about the issue you are facing as there might be multiple reasons you cannot use Fiddler. For example:

- Are you able to capture any traffic or nothing at all? Is the issue related to HTTPS or HTTP, or both?

- Are your OSproxy settings updated when Fiddler capturing is turned on?

- What is the request that is failing to be captured? Is it a browser request or a request made from an application?

- Were you able to use Fiddler before, or is it a first-time installation?

We are continually testing Fiddler and Fiddler Everywhere on Windows 10, and they both should work as expected.

I have a new Windows 10 machine. None of the Http or Https request are getting captured by Fiddler. If I enable the Troubleshoot option under help then I see the requests with a strike.

Hello Yassin,

When you open the Windows 10 Proxy Settings (while Fiddler is capturing), do you see the Fiddler proxy in place (127.0.0.1:8888)? You could also send us the Fiddler logs, and a screenshot of your troubleshoot output.

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

I am unable to get Fiddler 4 to capture http or https on Windows 10. Fiddler Everywhere won't even open on my workstation.

In my proxy config the LAN settings box is greyed out.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello Yassin,

Could you clarify what you mean by Fiddler Everywhere won't even open? Is the app hanging on startup or else?

Both the classic Fiddler and the new Fiddler Everywhere require that the currently logged account have rights to set the OS proxy settings. From what you are saying, it looks like that the account that is logged on your workstation doesn't have sufficient rights to perform this task.

As a side note, Fiddler Everywhere also requires direct access to the Internet (so that you could log in). While this might change in the future (the team is considering an anonymous login option), at this moment, this is a mandatory requirement.

The Fiddler Everywhere app wont open. It seems to hang on startup.

As far as the OS proxy setting, it seems to be managed by the administrators of my organization. I do not have access to change the LAN settings. That may be the reason why the capturing does not work.

The workstation does have access to the internet. I was initially wondering why the Fiddler Everywhere would not open. That is why I installed the classic version instead.

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

At this very moment, The Fiddler Everywhere client requires an active internet connection (see all requirements here). The team is working on a solution for an anonymous login option that would not require an internet connection. This is a feature that is not yet implemented and is still being reviewed by the team.

Apart from the active internet connection, Fiddler Everywhere also needs administrative rights to change the OS proxy settings. Without access to that panel, the app won't be able to set the Fiddler proxy, which means that you won't be able to use any f its features.
