Hi telerik,

I want to fetch the errors[any type of error, not just of javascript] from browser console. I am not seeing any way to interact with browser console window.

Please note that i am using telerik testing framework for my tests. Any way to achieve this?

Please see the screenshot.

Any way to capture the browser log messages like selenium provided.?

Can we achieve this by injecting javascript and query for log messages?

Hello Ranjeet,

Thank you for reaching us out.

Test Studio interacts with the DOM tree of a loaded page in a browser. As the browser console is not part of the application we are unable to fetch any messages logged there.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi Elena,

Thanks for your response. I understand this. But i am looking for a way to capture the js error from the display and they appears on browser console window.

How one can achieve that? The sole purpose of testing is to find the errors. If we can't find any js error on display, what is the use of the tool then?

Hope you understand my concerens.

Thanks

Hello Ranjeet,

Thank you for the additional details shared.

Test Studio is a tool for functional testing and is not designed to fetch Javascript errors. But such an error in the web application under test usually reflects in the UI of application with a control not functioning as expected.

The purpose of Test Studio is to identify if there are any functional errors in the UI. What causes these seems to be subject of application development more than testing. So once a misbehavior is identified in the web page UI it is supposed to be then debugged in details to sort out what error in the application code causes it.

I hope the above information is helpful to you. Though in case of any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again!
