Hi telerik Silverlight Team,

We're evaluating telerik Silverlight beta controls for a project and planning to implement for almost 3-4 j2ee, Data Warehousing Analysis and .NET projects as RIA UI. All your controls are looking good. We've few in which our onsite/offshore team is struggling.

1. Is there any telerik QuickStart tutorial kind of stuff
2. We're not sure whether telerik has any list of professional looking Themes / Skins available.
3. The currnet .net project for which we're evaluating is a Dashboard kind of project. Below are main controls we're looking for in telerik apart from the controls available (which are really great).
  a) A telerik control in which we would like to put all our UserControls and the parent telerik control need to resize our child UserControls automatically based on client browser / screen W & Height
  b) A telerik control which looks similar to our windows min, max, close kind
  c) Any Graph control

Based on your telerik silverlight current controls we've started trying out your controls and started development also for this .NET project. We're now struck with these above controls. Even if they're in alpha/beta stage, kindly let us know. So that we can use them to showcase in our first project, so that we can win the rest of the projects, which the client is leaning towards Flex 3, due to lack of above controls/features (points 1 to 3 above).

I'm the Solution Arch. for this project from the Vendor side. Any quick help would be of great help to showcase this project and get all the projects in Silverlight and start officially using telerik controls. Expecting an earliest reply ASAP.

Hi Sankar,
Thank you for your interest in RadControls for Silverlight. Here are the answers of your questions:

1) I already answered your other forum thread about the Trainer/QuickStart tutorial. In two words, we do have online demo examples and documentation, but we don't have a trainer, like the ASP.NET controls. The links are below:
http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight
http://www.telerik.com/help/silverlight

2) We are working on a completely new set of skins for all RadControls for Silverlight and WPF, that will be available in our next release - Q3, scheduled for the beginning of November. If you have suggestions for the skin looks, now it's the time to share - we are open for feedback!

3-a) Isn't this possible with the Silverlight layout system? If you do not explicitly set Width/Height on the Silverlight Page, it will automatically expand to the browser size. Attached is a test application which demonstrates my understanding of your requirement. Please, let me know if you mean something else.
In addition to that, we are working on a docking control, with functionality very similar to the following WinForms control:
http://www.telerik.com/products/winforms/controls/dock/overview.aspx
RadDock will be available in the upcoming Q3 release.

3-b) Let me know if RadWindow suits your needs:
http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#Examples/Window/FirstLook
and if isn't, what functionality do you need to achieve your requirements?

3-c) We are currently working on RadChart for WPF, but the Silverlight version of the control will not make it for Q3. Most probably the RadChart development team will be able to release a beta version for Silverlight soon after Q3.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Sincerely yours,
