Hi,

Great component, finally ;-)
Just some wishes:
  • more measure types: percentiles (it cover, quantile, median), average, moving average
  • Visually synchronizing with charts, maps (demographic)
  • Hierarchical pivotting
  • The ability to drill through per aggregation level to the source data. For example dimensions: month, product sales and measure count or sum and when navigate to a cell a grid is displayed with the detailed sales record of the month and product.
  • Coloring the cells as the results of a filter (say: gives me all the cells where sum of sales are > 1000 etc.)

Hello,

First of all I want to thank you for choosing Telerik Controls and particularly RadPivotGrid. We are really happy to receive feedback from our customers and we really appreciate your suggestions. Let me clarify some of them:
 1) We cover most of the measures you have asked for, but we'll consider adding the missing ones.
 2) Could you give more information what do you mean? We have plans to implement PivotCharts, but I'm not able to give you exact date when it will be ready.
 3) Not sure about this - could you give an example or such hierarchical pivot grid.
 4) Supoprting drilldown is on our to-do list and will be implemented in the future.
 5) Coloring of the cells is also in our development plans, most probably it'll be ready for the official release (Q1 2013).

Once again thank you for evaluating RadPivotGrid. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more suggestions or concerns.

2) sync pivotgrid with charts. For example if 2/3 dimensions are selected with 1 or more measure then just display a (2/3d) chart with the x/y/z axis for the dimensions and the measure(s) as values . If more dimensions just put a combobox or some toggle selector where the user can choose which dimension should be displayed/active as axis. Also the same feature when more measure(s) are selected/active. Put also a combobox or selector for choosing chart types. (for example bar or pie chart by default). If filtered (using some condition, see 5, and colored) then only show the values(automatic deactivating all the non match values) of dimensions that match the condition.

To be able to mark a dimension as geographic field type, for example zipcode or region as a dimension, and display a map and when click on the region then display a grid or another graph, using the other active dimension(s) (see above remarks).

To be able to select cells and displaying the selected cells in a graph

To be able to split multiple measures in a seperate view areas. For example x/y are year/product and measure are count and sum. You can display for some x/y value 2 measures side by side but sometimes its more convenient to display it 2 separate view areas ie. xy with count as measure and x/y with sum as measure side by side.

3) Parent/child (tree structured) relationship

Filter i.e. activate/de-activate values of a dimensions. Say you have the month dimension (jan-dec) then it should be possible to (de)activate a particular month or months.

calculated measure field (using some some expression editor). Say you have the following measures: "total turnover" and "total cost" as dimensions and for net turnover you can define a new dimension as new field or as a calculated field  net turnover=total turnover-total cost.

Toggle functionality i.e. swapping dimensions from row to column and vice versa.

To be able to register a user defined function for a user defined measure..

I know that some of the requested features can be programmatically solved. But if it is standard then we developers have more time to solved the business requirements of our customers ;-)

Just some features I think it will make the component more versatile and easy...

Thanks for being open for feedback.

Henk
