Is there any way to export the group headers on a RadGridView when doing a Export?  I know you can display the group footer in the export, although this seems limited to a single group footer for the entire grid.  The grouping on the grid is wonderful and the ability to define your custom Aggregate functions is brilliant, but having that wonderful display and not being able to get it into a electronic format is very limiting.

Thanks for any info.

thanks for the quick reply... that is exactly what I'm looking for but I can't seem to get it to work.  Do you have a sample project?  Also, I noticed in the link that you indicated it would be extended for use in Excel in the Q1 2010 build and was wondering if it has been completed as Excel is my preferred target.

The demo you indicated does not include the Group Headers or Footers.  It does include a Page Footer, but that's it.

Hi Troy,

Actually the demo includes all of these - you can try to group and export. Furthermore you can check the code in Exporting event.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong... if I drag the Name column to the group bar, it looks exactly like what I would want but when I export to any format ( below is from Word) this is what I get.

Hi Troy,

Unfortunately you are right! The bug was fixed immediately and the fix will be part of our upcoming latest build this Friday. I've added 2000 Telerik points to your account. You can find an example project attached using our latest binaries.

I have tested your attached test project as well as the update binaries and the group header rows are now showing as expected.  I am curious as to why the aggregate functions that also appear in the group header row do now show up in the exported group header row.  Is this a bug or just missing functionality?

Hi,

The grid will not export group headers and footers by default however you can use Exporting event to achieve desired result similar to our exporting demo.

It seems as if the group headers are exported automatically, but the group footers are an option in the export format.
If you run your demo and group by date, the group header shows the data from the grouped column (ie 04/13/2007), but your demo also includes aggregate functions that are also displayed in the header row.  This is what I'm wanting to export.

Thanks!

Hi Troy,

Actually there is a missing word in my last reply - sorry for this! Here is the correct answer:

The grid will not export group headers and footers aggregates by default however you can use Exporting event to achieve desired result similar to our exporting demo.

Sincerely yours,
Vlad
