Error when run on windows 7 with appserv

I have installed the appserv on the windows 7 and PHP runs smoothly.
I download the demo program and put in the www folder but can not run.
It always shows the following error.

 Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in C:\AppServ\www\kp\wrappers\php\web\datetimepicker\index.php on line 8

Please tell me what should I modify it and let it run.

Hi Lee,

 I googled for this error and found the following: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13125007/unexpected-character-in-input-ascii-92-state-1-in-a-silex-application

 It seems that you are using an older version of PHP. Kendo UI for PHP requires at least PHP 5.3.
