Error when creating a new project

    I'm installing the trial version. I have team pulse installed on a server 2008 with SQL 2008 Standard. I have .net 4.0 installed on the server and silverlight 4 on my machine that is a windows 7 machine. Any time I go thru the create project wizard after logging in I get the following error:

    Exception Type: System.Data.Services.Client.DataServiceRequestException
    Exception Message: An error occurred while processing this request.
       at System.Data.Services.Client.SaveResult.HandleBatchResponse()
       at System.Data.Services.Client.SaveResult.EndRequest()
       at System.Data.Services.Client.DataServiceContext.EndSaveChanges(IAsyncResult asyncResult)
       at TeamPulse.Client.Managers.ProjectManager.<>c__DisplayClass3c5.<>c__DisplayClass3c7.<SaveProject>b__3be()
    (Inner Exception)
    Exception Type: System.InvalidOperationException
    Exception Message: Error processing batch response. The response is not a valid batch response.
       at System.Data.Services.Client.BatchStream.MoveNext()
       at System.Data.Services.Client.SaveResult.<HandleBatchResponse>d__10.MoveNext()
       at System.Data.Services.Client.SaveResult.HandleBatchResponse()

    If I use IE 9 or firefox it just does nothing. If I use chrome then a little box will say "Connection Lost" in the upper right that I can close.

    Hi Paul,

    We have seen this issue reported by a few other clients but it has so far been notoriously difficult to reproduce and debug.  We do have some questions and suggestions for you though.

    1. Have you tried creating a project from a different machine (perhaps log in to the TeamPulse server directly)?
      - I see you've tried using different browsers on your personal machine, but it would be interesting to know if using a different machine altogether changes anything.

    2. On the TeamPulse server, have any TeamPulse related errors been logged to the Windows system event log?  If so, can you please post them here?

    3. Can upgrade Silverlight to the latest version?
      - Silverlight version 5 is available here:

    4. Can you please check the log files on the TeamPulse server and see if there has been any errors logged in any of the files?
      - The logs can be found here: {TeamPulse install folder}\Logs
      - You can post any errors you find here or you can open a support ticket and attach them.  Support tickets are available to all licensed and trial users.  The benefit of support tickets over forum posts is that they are private and you can also attach files with your responses.
