Ok that does answer a question I had...

I did bind the VQCV to a grid and when trying to group by a column, the collection seems to stop loading the empty lines.
That's all it has to do, load the lines that are visible and that are still empty.

Nothing that can be done?

Is this feature planed? Would be awesome... s this would solve the problem we all (*I*) have with grouping...

Is it supported in the current release. Also whether the Grouping is supported in the current release and if not any plans to release it in the future releases. Do you have any workaround for the grouping thing. Also I would like to know whether the filtering and grouping would be client side i.e it would applicable for only the records loaded in the grid, or for each filtering the server request would be sent?

Hello,

Currently the grouping is client-side (not server-side calls) and everything else will raise ItemsLoading event. Virtualization of groups is not yet implemented and will not be a trivial task - especially server-side grouping with aggregates.

We will continue to research the problem and if we find a way to implement this we will add this functionality for sure.

Kind regards,
Vlad

Hi Nicolas,

As my colleague pointed out "we will continue to research the problem and if we find a way to implement this we will add this functionality". Therefore we are not even sure if currently there is a way to do this on the server.

It is not expected shortly and we unfortunately we cannot commit to a specific time-frame for an huge feature like this.

Thank you for your understanding.

All the best,
Ross

Hi David,

Unfortunately, it turns out that this cannot be implemented easily.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Ross,
Is there a way to contact you privately on that forum (it's work related ;) )?
Thanks,
John.

Hello John,

The forums are public, so I don't believe that there is a private way of communication in them. Why don't you open a new support ticket?

Kind regards,

Hi,
any news here? Server side grouping would be a great benefit for the VirtualQueryableCollectionView.
(We need grouping in the WPF GridView)
Did you find a way to implement this?

Best regards,
Steffen

Hi,

Grouping is possible only locally on the client since there is no way to transfer groups from the server to the client.
