Deletion is Slow

Hi Telerik,
       Deleting text using 'Backspace' is slow sometimes if the document is with  multiple pages.
       While if there is only one to two pages, it seems pretty fast. This appears in the online demo for TelerikEditor.
       In our own application, the speed is even slower(1/2 of the online demo). It is possible some event handlers are added to event like PreviewKeydown and other events. While all the handlers are removed or not registered, it still slower than the online demo. It seems not the event handlers matter.
       Is there any way to improve the performance of deletion or any suggestions to avoid it?

Hello Tuo,

Unfortunately, I can't pinpoint the issue due to insufficient information. It is normal that RadRichTextBox will work a bit slower with bigger documents. Can you please give us some more info on the document you are using or even better, send it to us so we can reproduce the problem?

Also, I suggest you debug your application and observe its performance. It is possible that something else is causing the issue, especially since the performance is better in our online demos.

It will be best if you open a support ticket and attach a project so we can investigate further. Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue. When my document becomes larger than 3 pages typing and deleting text becomes incredibly slow. I have also submitted a support ticket regarding this.

We added this issue in our to-do list. Unfortunately, as the schedule for the next release is pretty filled up, at this moment we are not sure whether we will manage to fix the problem until then.

Thanks for getting back to us. Has there been any progress with this issue? i.e. have you found the cause etc?
My application is near completion using your RadRichTextBox but I am unable to release it due to the slow text input and deletion.

Hi Robert,
We are working on performance optimizations as we speak. Some performance optimizations were pushed in the LIB from this week, and some will be included in next week's one; of course all of them will be part of the next official release - 2012 Q3, expected in a few weeks.

I have updated my project to the Q3 2012 release and it seems to have improved the performance massively.
