Custom copy command that opens like the edit pop-up window?

I have a grid that uses the PopUp mode for editing/inserting and leverages the EditorTemplate for the view model.  This works fine.

I now need to add another custom command to copy a row and launch the popup window with all of the form fields pre-populated to be saved as a new record.

Is there a way to accomplish this?
