1) I can't find a way to programmatically copy and paste. Is there currently any way to hook up some toolbar buttons to the copy/paste functions of the grid view?
2) Once I change the 'SelectionUnit' to 'Cell', it appears the 'SelectedItem', 'SelectedItems', and 'CurrentItem' no longer reflect any selections in the grid. Is there any way to coordinate any of these? I know there is 'SelectedCells', but it would still be nice to have a current item row indicator.

1) I already replied to your other query. In short, we will introduce two new commands for Copy and Paste in RadGridViewCommands, which will be out in the next Latest Internal Build.
2) You should look into the CurrentCellInfo property, when using SelectionUnit=Cell.
