Computer name cant be used as host

I ever use my computer name to map proxy or access fiddler cert page, like this

Proxy hostname: mycomname, Proxy port: 8888

http://mycomname:8888

But now I must use http://192.168.0.2:8888 in my mobile&virtual mobile app (for mycomname, it says Webpage not available).

I can still use http://mycomname:8888 in Firefox/Chrome though, it show correct fiddler cert page.

Computer name is prefer because it's not be changed every time.

This happen after I switch from my Samsung S4 mobile hotspot to S9+. Can you guild me what is the problem/needed to be set.

Hello Ryuu,

I think the settings you are looking for are not Fiddler related. Can you check this article that explains how to access a computer by machine name inside android mobile hotspot.

I suspect it may not relate to fiddler but I don't know what to do so I post here in case someone know the issue. I try to set dns with dns changer already and try it all on source mobile (hotspot's source) so that it'll not interfered by other problems

from ipconfig -all my computer ip is 192.168.43.112 and dns server 192.168.43.1

So I set both DNS to 192.168.43.1 it still cant reach http://mycomname:8888 in mobile browser(Samsung's/Chrome)

but it can reach http://192.168.43.112:8888

DNS setting works well because if I change it wrong I cant access website

 

^Just to point out that I've tried many ways but it won't work. It seem no hope about this. I changed almost all my 52 VMs' Proxy hostname though so it's good but that's the reason I ask for help so much task to work with it would be better if hostname work :D

Very curious why it's all worked with Samsung S4 hotspot/Another PC with Lanbut not S9 hotspot with the same VM.
