The Certificate Maker isn't making certs, causing https traffic to not be decrypted.

Here's the error.

14:03:51:0830 !Fiddler.CertMaker> Tried to create cert for '*.telerik.com', but can't find it from thread 14!
14:03:51:0830 fiddler.https> Failed to obtain certificate for www.telerik.com due to Certificate Maker returned null when asked for a certificate for www.telerik.com

I really don't know what's happening, any help would be appreciated.

Hi Devin,

I understand that the MakeCert certificate generator is failing. Note that this is a legacy certificate generator. There are a few options for working around this and I have listed them below.

Option 1 (Recommended) - Use the Bouncy Castle Certificate Maker add-on.

Option 2 -
Use the optional CertEnroll Certificate Generator.

For reference, the Understanding Fiddler Certificate Generators provides detailed information about these options.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. Thank you for using the Fiddler Forums.

Regards,

Eric R
