I upgraded my local version of the Testing Framework to 2014.3.903.  A lot of my tests are failing so I need to revert back to a previous version (2014.1.410).  I still have the installer for the previous version, but when I uninstall the new version and try to install the old version it says I'm unable to because it looks like I have a newer version already on my machine.  How can I install the older version?  Thanks!

Hello Dan,

Please proceed with complete uninstall of the current framework. Then manually go and delete the following folders:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik

and

C:\ProgramData\Telerik

Try with the installation of the desired version of the framework again.

I did a complete uninstall and deleted those 2 directories.  When I tried running the installer again, I still get the dialog saying that the installer looks to be old.  I attached a screenshot of the dialog.

Hello,

You are using the online installer. Please make sure the folders I've already mentioned as well as the following one:

C:\Users\yourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Telerik

Also please try to use the offline installer, download the msi installation file and proceed.

Where can I download the offline version of the installer?  I can't find it on the website.
Thanks.

Hello Dan,

On the website you can download the newest framework version I guess.

Which is the framework version you are looking for so I can provide it to you for downloading?

Hi Dan,

Interesting! Apparently the uninstall did not work properly. Please go to Programs and Features and share with me a screen shot of what Telerik product it says are installed. See the attached screen shot for reference. We need to work on making sure all Test Studio and/or Telerik Testing Framework products are fully uninstalled.

Hi Dan,

That makes no sense! I'd like to look at this problem on your machine via GoToMeeting. Let me know what timezone you're in and your availability and I'll setup the meeting. I'm located in Austin, Texas, which is Central time zone.

I'm available anytime today between 2PM EST and 4PM EST.  So anytime between 1 and 3 your time.

In the mean time, could you please provide me with an .msi installer because I'm currently unable to run our automation and this is a MAJOR blocker for our company and process.  Thank you.

Hi Telerik Team,

I have a similar issue.  I want to install a specific version of the report designer, version 2014 Q3.  I cannot find the msi for this version to install anywhere on the Telerik site.  I am prompted to install the latest version.  Using the latest version to design a report breaks the reports when used in our application.

Where is the .msi for Telerik Report Designer 2014 Q3.

Thank you, O

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I am looking into your account with us to try and assist with getting you the older version, but I cannot locate any licensing. Is there possibly another account you are using that is assigned to the license?

Once I am able to locate and look into the account with the license, I will be able to backdate the product so that you have access to the previous version needed. Please let me know if you have any questions about this!

Kathryn

Is there a version of telerik that comes standard with visual studio? I do not think anyone ever purchased a license and upgrading broke the site because it keeps popping up random stuff on the pages saying a license needs to be purchased. And now I can't even figure out how to go back to the previous version before the upgrade without completely breaking everything.

I tried just deleting the folders that were added from the upgrade, and I get a ton of reference errors, which makes no sense, because those folders weren't even there to begin with. Does the upgrade delete old version files?

Hello Daniel,

The trial errors in the web browser mean that the ASP.NET Web Forms app is still using the trial version of Telerik.Web.UI.dll (Telerik UI for ASP.NET AJAX).

Please download the dev version of the control and update the trial assembly as explained at: Upgrade From Trial to Licensed Version of Telerik® UI for ASP.NET AJAX.

You can download the registered dev assembly from https://www.telerik.com/account/product-download?product=RCAJAX ->  Telerik_UI_for_ASP.NET_AJAX_2019_3_1023_Dev_hotfix.zip -> Bin45 folder.

If the problem is different, please provide a screenshot of the trial error to see which component/suite is causing the error. Thank you!

Hello Rumen,

Using the Upgrade Link you provided and reading through the Manual Upgrade instructions, I was able to successfully fix my issues, I think. I haven't seen any trial errors popping up anymore yet.

Thanks,

Daniel
