Hello
When I try to upload a .dll for extraction it does nothing.
What I did:
1) Choosing 'Minify Telerik Assemblies'
2) Choosing the file Telerik.Windows.Controls.dll from my local machine
3) Click open and then ... nothing happens.
I'm using the latest Telerik Controls (internal Build).
Thank you for your help.

Bruno, I am unable to reproduce your issue in our environment. But I want to note that you may need to wait several seconds to load the assemblies. Sometimes the application needs more that 10 seconds to load ( if you choose Telerik.windows.controls and Telerik.windows.themes.Vista for instance).

Omri, you cannot simply minify dll of a particular theme. You have to use it in conjunction with other DLL (for instance Telerik.windows.controls). Then you can choose a particular control ( for example Button) and the minifier will get the styles of the Button and use it in the new dll. Hope this satisfies your needs.

Which works, but then I get depenacies that are missing like the KeyGesture class for the rich text.
According to the forums I need to upload all of the ones we are using at once, which adds:

Hi Joanna,
The problem is not in the number of dlls actually. The real issue is that currently, the dlls from the second group of two cannot be minified (except the OfficeSilver dll). We logged this as a bug that we need to resolve but we cannot provide an estimated time when. We also updated your telerik account points.

Hi, I tried to use the minifier today. What I did was,
1) Click "Assembly Minifer"
2) Click "Browse"
3) Select "Telerik.Windows.Control.dll", and click OK.
But nothing happens afterwards. No upload indicator or anything. I waited for around 10 minutes.
Something wrong? Any steps that I missed?

Can you confirm that this behavior is consistent every time and when using different browsers? Do you have similar issues when trying to minify other dlls?

I just checked one more time. The problem happens for any DLL in all the browser that I have right now: Chrome, IE9, Firefox 4.
The Silverlight version I have installed is 4.0.60531.0

This is an internal build version of dll. Could you please try to minify dlls from official Release ( Q1 2011 0315, Q1 2011 SP1 0419) and let us know if you still have the same issue ?

Sorry, if I needed to use WIndows 7 theme and the RadGridView, which DLLS do I have to load in here?
Telerik.Windows.Controls.GridView.dll
Telerik.Windows.Themes.Windows7.dll
But for RadGridView I also require:
Telerik.Windows.Controls.dll
Telerik.Windows.Data.dll
But in the second group I dont know which control to extract. If select any of the two the screen remains blank.
Also when I multi select the two dlls from first group, the screen remains black. (Even after 10 min waiting)
A step by step instruction would be great.

The size of the files is amazing. Much better than the 4 MB Theme file. So by selecting the controls and one theme, it would automatically discover to keep only the parts of template that could go with the controls?
Also great thanks for the video. I have tried exactly your steps and again nothing shows up. I see how you are waiting for no more than 20 - 30 seconds while circulating with the mouse. In my case nothing happens.
Could it be that its because I have the Trial version?
If you could improve the Minifier by giving it a status indicator what it is doing, that would make things so much more efficient and transparent.

The issue is not caused by the trial version. There known issues with the Summer, Office_Silver and Office_Black themes but we are not aware of any issues when minifying the Windows7 theme. And since we cannot reproduce it, unfortunately we cannot be sure what might be causing it. Can you use the minified assemblies Peter sent?
Also, we will definitely take your suggestion into account when we upgrade the minifier tool.

You can download all assemblies, including the Telerik.Windows.Controls.Input.dll, from the Product Versions page in your account. To navigate there you can do the following:

- After you open the Telerik website you can click on the "Products & Subscriptions" combo box
- Choose "UI for Silverlight" from the combo box
- Click the blue "Download" button. This will open your Product Versions download page.
From there you can download the .zip with all assemblies that you need.
