Hi Support,

We are using telerik free testiing framework version 2018.3.1004.0. But it is not handling the alert, confirm dialogs on latest chrome i.e chrome 70.

Please note that i am using the latest telerik extension as weel for executions.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

Thanks

Vinay

Hi Vinay,

Can you please double check if the installed extension in Chrome is Progress Telerik Test Studio 2018.3.103? Also, if there are any other Test Studio related extensions, please remove them completely as they can be preventing the normal flow of our product.

If the above is not working, or you have the Telerik Test Studio 2018.3.103 extension solely installed on your side, please follow the next steps in attempt of resolution to the issue you are experiencing:
1. Uninstall Chrome completely from your machine
2. Then, navigate to C:\Users\<YousUsername>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome and delete any leftover data in this folder
3. Next, perform a fresh install of the Chrome browser again.
4. Finally, try to execute a test which handles a Confirm dialog and see if it will succeed this time.

Last, if the steps do not help as well, is it possible for you to share the failure exception text for further reference?

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Hi Vunay,

Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce this problem with latest Chrome versions (v.70 and v.71) - all Alert/Confirm and other dialogs work as expected.

What we have observed in cases like yours is that sometimes upon Chrome browser update, it does not clear its cache properly, which can cause this problem. That is why, what my team mate proposed for you to is to clear the browser cache and data folder (step 2 of the previous answer). Can you confirm you have performed that?

Please make sure you have cleared all local browser data before you try again.

If this does not help, can you please provide more details about your Chrome (if it is 64 bit version or 32 bit) and operating system (Windows 7 or Windows 10 or some server), so we can investigate further?

If you recall any other change on the machine this behavior happened, when it stopped working, please let us know.

We are here to work with you overcome this issue,

Thank you for your cooperation,

Best Regards,
