Adding new value to GridViewComboBoxColumn

I've got a GridViewComboboxColumn and I need to add new values into combobox dropdown list.There's a similar question here: http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/silverlight/gridview/adding-new-value-to-gridviewcomboboxcolumn.aspx
And there is an answer. But the problem is that the solution provided doesn't work if a column is bound to integers rather than to strings. In this case I've got a validation error "Input is not in a correct format".
Could you please fix it?

Hello Stas,

I am sending you the updated version of the sample that enables adding int values in the source of the combo box. You may extend it more so that it fits precisely into your requirements.
