Hello,
Let me first start by saying what a great tool icenium is. I have built many phonegap apps in the past and this environment really cuts down the time it takes to build these apps. So I hate to report a bug but it appears that the 3 finger download no longer works on r an app has been deployed to the App Store. To reproduce download the MINI GMT 2013 app from the apple store and I've it a shot.

Hi Pierre,
Thank you for the kind words - much appreciated!
As for your inquiry, this is expected behavior as the three finger refresh is only meant to work when you deploy your application in Debug (i.e. via Ion) so you can easily see the changes you make while developing your app.

Is it possible to make this an option that is left up to the developer? I understand that in most cases this would make sense. However in specific cases the developer may want this quick update functionality to be released as Parton their app. The alternative is for us to write it ourselves but it seems silly to have to do that when you include it as part of the product.

Hi Pierre,
This is not a limitation/decision that comes from our end. Apple wants to have full control over the install/update of the apps in their App Store, so functionality like the three finger update would violate their license agreement and they would most likely reject your application.
Kind regards,
Steve

Thank you for your prompt reply.
So am I correct in thinking that by that logic the 3 finger download works in ad-hoc deployed packages? Meaning, if we manually install the app on a device, three finger download will work?
Any chance that you can expose this functionality as part of a javascript api? I have built numerous phonegap apps that have the ability to be updated on the fly, and apple has approved them. In fact the ability to be "updated" on the fly is really nebulous in a world where servers are providing you with data and sometimes the pages themselves.

I understand that in most cases you would not want this functionality. But in our case where these are apps that support events, and events change right up until the last second, the peace of mind of knowing that you can update the apps at the last second is really nice (if you have to).
