Hi.

I have a question regarding the second level cache and multiple applications/databases.

As far as I understand, the 2nd level cache uses multicasting for instance cache evictions in distributed systems.

My question is this: If I have two applications running against two different databases, will eviction multicasts evict instances from both applications?

This is of course not desired as my test environments should not interferere with others.

Regards

Pål

Hi Pål,

In order to have independent cache cluster setups the 2 applications should provide unique multicast addresses.

Kind regards,
