The Report Wizard  steps you through building a report, from data binding to layout and styling. Wizard highlights include:

• Automatically group and sub total on any column.
• Convert existing Crystal and ActiveReports.
• Choose from predefined layout formats and styles.

Flexible expressions allow you to group, sort and filter data without writing queries or event handlers. Use built-in functions, aggregates, database fields, report parameters and user defined functions to build your expressions. Expressions can be used directly as output to the report or as criteria for grouping, sorting and filtering report data. Report Parameters allow user input to be used directly in grouping, sorting and filtering expressions.

Telerik Reporting uses a built-in styling model similar to CSS. The model provides for fine-grained visual customization of all elements of a report directly in the Visual Studio designer. This CSS-like mechanism offers full control over background, colors, borders, images for every item on your report. Styles can be copied between report items directly in the Report Designer for easy, rapid report development.

Conditional Formatting formatting lets you change the report display dynamically based on rules that you define using simple comparisons or by building more complex expressions with the Integrated Expression Builder. Highlighting text based on data values, conditionally displaying images and alternating row appearance are now codeless operations accomplished entirely in the Report Designer. Conditional formatting works together with Telerik Report Styles to achieve complex visual output with minimal effort.

Telerik Reporting supports a variety of measurement units that are used to achieve precise report layout. Measurement units can be used for any reporting element including borders, padding and font size. Available measurement units are Pixel, Point, Pica, Inch, Mm and  Cm. Differing measurement units can be used, even for properties of a single report element. For example Height could be expressed in pixels and Width in inches. A default measurement unit allows you to quickly enter dimensions and positions without specifying the unit.
