Large React apps can be tricky to maintain, especially when you work in a corporate setting, and with a lot of other developers. But that maintenance is also important, as you want to make sure your apps remain performant, and that you retain your sanity.
Luckily, Paige Niedringhaus (@pniedri) is joining us to share tips & tricks she’s learned from working in enterprise React apps at The Home Depot, and will demo some of them for us live. This is a great one for any React developer at a large company to check out.

The advent of React contexts provided new opportunities to share data within areas of an application but it was not without challenges. Developers quickly discovered that contexts can have performance implications leaving many wondering if it was all worth the effort.
In this session, Michael Labriola (@mlabriola) will dive into how React contexts work, and how frameworks such as Redux have tackled the associated complexities, allowing you to realize the benefits with few of the drawbacks.

Remix is a fascinating new approach for building full-stack web applications that leverages web fundamentals, and offers innovative new ways for working with data and databases directly in your front-end code.
And who better to show it off than its co-creator, Ryan Florence (@ryanflorence). In this session Ryan will demo Remix for us live, and you’ll have the chance to ask any Remix questions you might have.

The React ecosystem is full of libraries (and opinions!) about how best to manage state in your apps. From plain React state, to Context, to Redux, to MobX, to specialized libraries like XState and react-query... there is no shortage of options.
Which is why we’re welcoming Dave Ceddia (@dceddia), author of React State Management Libraries and How to Choose to give us some practical advice. Dave will compare and contrast a few of the most popular choices to help you decide what to use in your own apps.

This should be a fun one, as Kent C. Dodds (@kentcdodds) is joining us to talk us about Testing Library, and to give us a live demo. You should bring fun questions, like, how did you come up with the name Testing Library? Maybe bring some real questions too, as Testing Library is a pretty powerful library you’re probably using in production.

Legend has it that if you say “Jamstack” three times and click your heels together, someone from Netlify will apparate to give you an awesome Jamstack talk. So we did that and got the amazing Jason Lengstorf ( @jlengstorf), host of Learn With Jason, and creator of the coolest menu I’ve ever seen (it’s in the top-right corner).
In this session, Jason will live code a React app and a custom serverless API from scratch *and* deploy it to production to show you how productive you can be with an optimized tech stack. This one is a great one to check out if you want to see just how productive you can be with the Jamstack and serverless functions.

GraphQL is one of the fastest growing technologies in the front-end and React worlds. And who better to teach us about it than Eve Porcello (@eveporcello), author of Learning GraphQL, as well as this pretty awesome GraphQL workshop.
Eve is actually a previous guest of React Wednesdays. The first time around she taught us the basics of GraphQL, so this time around she’s getting into some more advanced GraphQL content—including new GraphQL features like defer and stream.

Redux Toolkit is the official, opinionated, batteries-included toolset for efficient Redux development. And who better to show us how it works than Mark Erikson (@acmemarke), long-time Redux maintainer and avid blogger about all things web development. I’m excited for this one because I think an opinionated toolset for Redux has a ton of potential, and I want to see it in action.
