I want to redirect traffic from my Chromebook using fiddler everywhere. Unfortunately I do not have access to the fiddler jam extension, so I need to use an external device which is my mac. I followed this in the docs (https://docs.telerik.com/fiddler-everywhere/knowledge-base/how-to-track-different-devices). I connected my Chromebook on the same internet and with the proxy with the correct computer name and port, and saved the settings. I tested the internet on https://www.google.com but no internet. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Derek Li,

Losing internet connectivity while the Chromebook proxy is set usually means that the Chromebook client does not "see" the proxy host (in this case, the Fiddler host). The first thing to do is to ensure that your Chromebook is configured properly. The Chromebook configuration is similar to the one you would do on an Android device.

- On the Fiddler host machine, open the Fiddler Everywhere application and ensure that the Settings> Connections > Allow Remote Computers to connect option is enabled.

- Use the Chromebook's Manual proxy configuration to see the Fiddler Everywhere proxy IP and Port. The IP of the Fiddler Everywhere host should be in the same local subnet as the Chromebook, and they should be able to "see" each other.

- Open the Fiddler Everywhere echo address on the Chromebook browser. The address is as follows:

http://ipv4.fiddler:8866

If you can successfully open the above address, your Chromebook is properly configured to see and use the Fiddler Everywhere proxy. The next step is downloading, installing, and fully trusting the Fiddler Everywhere root certificate on your Chromebook. You can download the certificate from the above Fiddler echo service page and install it on the Chromebook through its OS settings.

- Finally, toggle the system capturing in Fiddler Everywhere and retry capturing any HTTP/HTTPS site from your Chromebook.

Hi Nick Iliev:

In step 3, my Chromebook does not display the import button.

As a disclaimer, I do not own a Chromebook, and I can't find one to test the instructions in the third-party article.

A missing import button might point to absent administrative rights or applied security policies - contact your system administrators if the Chromebook is using company security policies/accounts. Another possibility is that your Import option is placed elsewhere (if you are using a different version of the OS) - try scrolling down to the bottom of the Authorities page and check if there is an import option (for example, this tutorial shows a different UI).
