Had this issue for a while, when I close Fiddler my system shouldn't go to Fiddler, and yet it does (I think), I've followed other people with similar questions, and the answers have always been to disable Windows use proxy server setting, but that's the thing mine is disabled and yet the problem persists. I'm using Fiddler Classic if that helps.

Hello Jackson,

The screenshot shows that the Windows proxy settings are not using Fiddler Classic, which is expected, and this is what should happen when the Fiddler application is closed (or capturing is turned off). Conversely, when Fiddler Classic is running and capturing is turned ON, the Windows Proxy settings should be updated to use the Fiddler proxy (manual proxy at 127.0.0.1:8866). Note that the Windows Settings UI is not dynamically updated, so you have to switch sections back and forth to see the actual changes (if such are present).

That said, the issue you are experiencing doesn't look connected to Fiddler Classic (I assume from your previous post that you do not have internet access through the active network connection).

Ensure that your system uses the proper network adapter - it could be that you have switched to a connection without internet or have entered airplane more (on Windows 11, check the Settings > Network & Internet section).

I can still access the internet but some applications cant access it without fiddler being open. From the device manager, all the network adapters seem to work normally, and I know I'm not on airplane mode.

Can you clarify which applications? It sounds like these specific applications have the Fiddler proxy settings cached, and you need to reset their proxy configuration explicitly.
