The steps that were followed to initialize the fiddler tool are mentioned below.
Steps (Commands used in linux):
- sudo apt-get install mono-complete libcanberra-gtk-module
- mkdir $HOME/fiddler-linux
- cd $HOME/fiddler-linux
- wget http://www.telerik.com/docs/default-source/fiddler/fiddler-linux.zip
- unzip -x fiddler-linux.zip
- mono --debug Fiddler.exe

Thanks for using Fiddler Classic and for your feedback. The Fiddler Classic is officially supported only on Windows and we are not supporting Ubuntu OS. However, the team is actively working on the new Fiddler Everywhere which is officially supported for Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu. You can give it a try by downloading the latest version from the following link:

I had enabled the similar Fiddler Classic setups on Ubuntu OS platforms last 3 months back. It was working fine then. Now when I try to setup new one, it is giving an initialization issue.
Can you please justify more why it is not supported on Ubuntu OS? Is it got deprecated recently?

The Fiddler Classic is officially supporting only Windows OS. There was a beta development to support macOS and Linux distributions, but the team deferred this idea. Now we are working on Fiddler Everywhere as our cross-platform solution, while the Fiddler Classis will only be developed for Windows.
