A Brief History in Milestones

Telerik Reporting was designed and launched in 2006  as an addition to the Telerik toolset to satisfy the customer needs for a versatile data-driver reporting library. Here are the major  milestones  that marked the development of the product over the last 15 years: 

• November 2006 | Telerik Reporting CTP
  The Telerik Reporting CTP is released and gradually enriched with more report items, data sources and export formats.
• October 2012 | Standalone Report Designer
  The Standalone Report Designer is introduced, giving users a way to create declarative report definitions, design and preview reports without writing a single line of code.
• October 2013 | Telerik Reporting REST Service
  The Telerik Reporting REST Service is released — an abstraction over the reporting engine that exposes the server-side reports as resources.
• February 2015 | Telerik Report Server 1.0
  Introducing Telerik Report Server 1.0 — a turn-key solution for reports management, oriented towards business users that need centralized reports storage, granular permissions administration and report designing capabilities in a single application.
• January 2019 | Linux and MacOS
  The Telerik Reporting runtime is compiled against .NET Standard 2.1, allowing to use the reporting engine on Linux and MacOS platforms.
• September 2019 | Web Report Designer
  The preview of the Web Report Designer is released in 2019 — a  JS widget  that allows users to add report designing capabilities to their web applications.
