    Hi,
since IE7 will be release before the end of this month (via windows update), I'd like to know whether the r.a.d.controls have been tested with a beta/release candidate of IE7.

I'm using the beta and release candidate versions of IE7 for some time and have so far not experienced any bigger issues. But it would be nice to know whether telerik also made some tests using IE7.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Martin

    Martin,

Telerik will support IE7 when it is released and all r.a.d.controls should work correctly in that browser. They are always testing their controls with future technologies (like FF 2.0 and VS "Orcas") to ensure compatibility. For a full list of telerik control browser compatibility, check out this link:

    http://www.telerik.com/support/requirements-and-compliance/browser-support.aspx

I've been testing my sites (which use almost all of the telerik controls) in IE7 since its original beta (on both XP and Vista) and I have not observed any problems with the telerik controls. CSS problems, yes. r.a.d. control problems, no.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns about IE7 and I'll be happy to help.

    Thanks~

    Hi Martin,

The telerik staff already uses IE7, including me, so the controls have already been tested under the new version :) Actually, we are using FF 2.0 RC2 as well, so this new browser is under stringent review as well.

There are a couple of minor issues on IE7, but nothing major. We plan to fix them all for Q3 SP1 (or earlier), which is due in 2-3 weeks.

    Hi guys,

The first service pack is scheduled for next Monday, Oct. 16th, and we will do our best to fix all known issues under IE7 and FF2. Let us know if you find anything unusual that we should look at.

    Best wishes,
    Rob

I have a bug if you want to take a look.

Using RadMenu, when you assign a MenuItem CssClass with a background image, the background image does not display correctly in IE7.  From some quick internal testing, we think it has to do with IE7 not handling the multiple classes on the <li> object properly.

Just an FYI.  I don't need this fixed or anything.

    Hi guys,

We just wanted to let you know that the SP1 release has been postponed for tomorrow, Tuesday. We are sill testing and fixing a few remaining problems with r.a.d.editor (a skin problem and a JS error) under IE7.

We still want to be the first component vendor to officially announce full support for IE7 beta and FF2 beta browsers so some vigorous testing is needed before we release the service pack.

We are sorry for the delay.

    Kind regards,
    Rob

    Hi guys,

I have had a number of issues with IE7 mainly due to table sizes and whilst none of the issues are Telerik problems I have had to completely re-write my site to be compatible with IE7.

I will give you an example

login to the client.net telerik site and find any page that has my subscriptions on it. Have a look at the my subscriptions on the left hand side in an IE7 browser, it has not rendered correctly (well it has not in my browser, I am running Vista RC2), this is not an issue with Telerik components it is much more to do with the way the tables are rendered.

This has been a real pain for me testing a 200 page website against the new browser.

    Regards

    Alex

    Alex,

Just to clarify, the "My Subscriptions" heading is not rendering correctly in IE6 either. It appears that the layout was broken in a recent site update.

I understand where you're at, though, with regards to preparing for IE7. I began testing my sites and fixing IE7 bugs about 8 months ago with the early betas, so I know there are some tricks to getting everything to "play nice" in FF1.x, IE6, and IE7. In case you haven't seen MS's official guidance, here are some helpful links to help you as you test for IE7:

Indeed, guys, there are still a couple of small design glitches on our site following the recent facelift. We will be happy to fix all problems you find.

We went ahead and checked http://www.telerik.com/client.net/my-licenses/my-subscriptions.aspx using the RC version of IE7 (WinXP), but did not find any problems with the layout of the page (I have attached a screenshot from my test account). Could you give us the exact URL where you see the problem? Feel free to send me a screenshot of the page to clientservice AT telerik DOT com.

    Thanks in advance.

    Zhivko,

Sorry for the confusion. We're actually talking about any page in the Forums that displays your top 5 "My Subscriptions" (below the Simple search box). The tile "My Subscriptions" is wrapping so it looks like this:

My Subscriptions Posts - Last / All
    10/18/2006 /  4

    Does that make more sense?

    Thanks~

    Hi Todd,

I believe this is now fixed. Thank you all for reporting the problem. Indeed, it had nothing to do with the telerik components, it is pure html/css.

    Zhivko,

By "now fixed" I assume you mean that it has been fixed in the code but the update has not been pushed to the production site yet. Just wanted to be sure because I still see the formatting error in IE6.

    Thanks~

    Hi Todd,

The changes should be uploaded. You will need to refresh the site /clear cached css files/ to see the changes, however. I am attaching a screenshot of the area as seen on my computer. Please, confirm if the problems persist so we can see into this.

    Zhivko,

I hate to say this, but the problem still occurs on all browsers that I regularly use (IE6, IE7, FF1.5, FF2). I've cleared all offline files, load the page with Cntl + F5 (refreshes cache) and the offset layout (as seen in my last post) persists.

Let me know if you want a screenshot.

    Thanks~

    Hello Todd,

Indeed, it turned out we've only fixed the problem partly - depending on the threads to which you were subscribed, the grid might have indeed been incorrectly rendered. We tracked down the problem and fixed it. I really hope it is OK now :) THANK YOU SO MUCH for your involvement and support on this.

    All the best,
