Unable to run a test in firefox

Test Studio version is 2012.2.1204.0
I have a test created in IE10 which is basically a simple test to navigate to URL which works fine when running using IE10. When trying to run the same test using Firefox , browser opens up saying "preparing for automation" and it does not do anything. I have to manually abort the test run. The website is built around using HTML5 and java script and there is just one single line of code in the test to navigate to a website. Firefox  has been configured as per the instructions in the documentation
The failed view log has following text:

Hi Mamata,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem. Please refer to this article and check whether the proper FireFox extension is enabled as we would expect. Also disable any add-on's which could cause any conflict with ours. If the extension is not installed at all, please unzip the XPI file I attached and drag/drop it into your FireFox browser.

Another option would be to upgrade Telerik Studio to version 2012.2.1527 which is our latest internal build. This will also install our extension for Firefox. You can download it from your Telerik.com account here: Public URL.

Never mind, the solution is to install an older version of FF. I installed FF 23.0.1, and the extensions worked.

Hello Edgar,

What version of Test Studio do you use?

As of version 2015.3 Telerik TS extensions are signed by Firefox in order to be installable (FireFox requirement).

If you use that version of later you don't need to install older versions of FF.

You may try delete the extension, enable it again and restart the browser. 

Firefox extensions could be installed manually, as shown below:

- For installing the playback extension navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Test Studio\Browser Extensions\Firefox4+ and drag telerik_test_studio_automation-2015.2.918.0-fx-windows.xpi to the extensions in FF.

- For installing the recording extension navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\Test Studio\Bin\TestRecorderBrowserExtensions\Firefox and drag telerik_test_studio_recorder-2015.3.1228.0-fx-windows.xpi to the extensions in FF.
