I'm trying to get execution recording so that we can review failures by video. I have it mostly set to the default settings with the exception of mode being set to "always" and the output location being set to a UNC path. Can i only record using certain browsers? I'm currently using Chrome headless.  Also, I have it set for MJPEG so I don't think i need anything extra installed or configured.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for adding details on the settings you have applied about test list recording.

The issue here is the headless browser used to execute the tests as there is no UI for this mode and no video can be recorded for the test execution. I now see that there is no information listed in the documentation about this limitation and will take care of adding the update as soon as possible.

As a cross check that everything works on your end, you can set the browser to Chrome (in head-full mode) and run the test list again. In that case the videos should be generated as expected. And if this is not so, please, let me know and send the application log (zipped) generated during the test list run.

And since you mentioned you set the video recording to always, I wonder if there is anything that bothers you in the test list runs. Don't hesitate to elaborate on the actual issues which led you to the video recording.

Thank you for your cooperation in advance.

Regards,
Elena

Hi,

We were setting it in always mode just to see if we can get the video output on a run. Ideally, we would just leave it off or have it on failed only for anything that is troublesome.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for following up. Does this mean you managed to record a video for test run in head-full browser  mode? Do you still have troubles with this?

Regards,
Elena
