I am trying to sync my Outlook tasks with your Tasks app for Windows Phone 8 but am having issues configuring the Exchange connection.

I use my @live.com email address for everything, and it is the account that I have Office 365 signed up under. I signed up for Office 365 Home Premium largely because that seems to be the only way to get any of this to work since I don't have access to a corporate / small business exchange server. However, what is unclear to me is whether or not the Tasks app supports Office 365 Home Premium (I have seen several posts from Telerik devs saying that it does, but I've also seen at least one dev that indicated support was limited to P1 and other small business / enterprise versions).

So the question is this, assuming that Office 365 Home Premium is supported (please let me know if it isn't), how do I set up the sync?

Email / User Name are self explanatory (they would be my @live.com email address for both, correct)? As is password.

Domain I know i leave blank

Server is where I'm assuming i"m running into issues.

I have tried the following:

https://m.hotmail.com
https://bay-m.hotmail.com
https://bay-m.hotmail.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
https://bay002.mail.live.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx

(the latter 2 were derived from this help thread: http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/windows-phone/general-discussions/task-app-sync-w-office365-home-preview.aspx)

All return an error either indicating that the server url could not be found or that the specific host could not be found

I honestly don't completely understand how all this works (I've never dealt with exchange before, am currently transitioning over from primarily a google / gmail user to using the Outlook / Windows / Office platform), so any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for contacting us. Synchronization with Hotmail.com/Outlook.com is not supported yet but it is something we’re looking into. For the time being, we support only Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (or later) and Office365
While on the topic, I wanted to let you know that, we've been working for some time on two additional synchronization solutions, besides Microsoft Exchange and Office365:

Tasks Cloud Service is our own cloud synchronization solution which allows for full task/category/project synchronization among devices (windows phone 8, windows 8 desktop, windows 8 tablet). We've included this feature with the latest update of Tasks for Windows 8 and we’re in the process of pushing it to the Windows Phone 8 version as well.

Also, due to popular demand, we've decided to implement support for Google Tasks. We've included this feature with the latest update of Tasks for Windows 8 as well and we’ll do our best to incorporate it in the phone version as soon as possible.

To summarize, we’ll be bringing Tasks for Windows Phone 8 up to speed by implementing support for Tasks Cloud Service and Google Tasks.

Greetings,

Wait. Daniel said that he signed up for an Office 365 account. Kiril said, “we support only Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 (or later) and Office365.”

I think you must mean only some kinds of Office 365, where the email address doesn't end with live.com, hotmail.com, msn.com, or outlook.com. Which is why I can't get Tasks to work for me, either.

Hello Alan,
You're absolutely right. Keeping up with what exactly is meant with Outlook, Outlook.com Office, Office 365 and logging on with Outlook.com or Microsoft Accounts to Windows and Office can become a nightmare.
In short, your Office365 account needs to have Exchange service enabled. Only then Tasks can sync with your Office365 account.
