Hi all,

Is anyone having an issue and a solution to viewing a pdf file created by RadRichTextBox by the following call; Telerik.Windows.Documents.FormatProviders.Pdf.PdfFormatProvider().Export(<textArea.Document>) in an email program, open within an internet browser (for example gmail open within Google Chrome) where the characters are not being converted correctly?  It is using the pdf internet browser plugin.

It works fine if I right click on the plugin and open the document in another tab, or download the document and open it using Adobe Reader.  It only does not open correctly when clicking the plugin once and displaying the document within the plugin child window.  I have tested this in IE and Google Chrome.

I have attached a screen shot of what the pdf should look like and a screen shot of what it looks like when opening from the plugin.

Thank you in advance,

Lee.

Hello Lee,

Thank you for contacting us.

The issue you are observing is related to a Silverlight limitation which prevents fonts from being embedded in the generated PDF.
What I could suggest as a workaround is to try exporting your documents server-side using the WPF version of RadRichTextBox where the mentioned limitation is not present.
The reason why the document is opening correctly when you open it in new tab is because the browser uses a different viewer which has access to the system fonts which allows the document to be loaded correctly.

If you have further questions or some other concerns do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,
Alexander
