Hi,

in the RadControls for WPF Q2 2011 Demos on the right side there is a nice control that slides a little bit, when it get's the focus. Is this a control I can use or could you post an example code?

Thanks in advance

Hello Peter,

The control work in WPF only and has some tricky moment using it as it is specially developed for the QSF. You can however give as exact directions in what would you like to have as search box, functionality, styling, data source etc. and we will consider such feed back in future development. We have plans to implement a search box but it is with low priority and will not be released soon It would take at least two Qs if our plans do not change.

Best wishes,

Hi,

I didn't mean the search box. I mean just the rectangles sliding in an getting filled with content smoothly.

Hi Hans Peter,

Same goes for them. They use a custom panel available only in the QSF that animates the layout to accommodate a the content. Also there is a second panel that implements IScrollInfo and takes care of the animated scrolling. Their usage is pretty tricky so I can not check them in the production line. I can post you the code but you would still need to integrate them in somewhat controls which I am not sure is possible since the control in the search is custom too.

If you want I can post you the code for the panels but we would not support them, fix bugs or do any other activity related to them.

I am really sorry for the inconvenience. I wish all our controls had such animations out of the box but they have some constraints that does not allow it. For example the animated scroll panel can not use virtualization. While our RadComboBox defently should support VirtualizingStackPanel.
