If it hasn't already been mentioned, I grabbed the Q3 build today as well a the Q3 docs. I was flipping through all the chm files and found the one for GridView was empty. It had the content tree, but each node was blank and there was no information in the pages.

    Hi Alex,

Indeed there was a problem with that CHM file and we believe something went wrong during the upload. We have updated the file and it should be ready now.
Please, excuse us for the inconvenience. We have updated your points as well.

I just got around to re-downloading the documentation set as I've been using the online docs.
It appears every chm in the download now has a problem. I tried re-downloading it as well in case there was an error.
Every file I open shows a navigation error in the HTML help window and I get a security warning asking if I want to open or save the file. If I hit open, it repeats, if I hit save it appears nothing happens. And if I hit cancel it lets me close out.

    Thanks for looking into this.

    Hi Alex Peachey,

    Thank you for writing.

It appears you are experiencing a very common issue caused by a Microsoft security update. Please refer to this Knowledge Base article for a solution. If the problem persists, contact us again.

    Sincerely yours,

Thanks for that pointer. It didn't really have the solution at the surface as it was describing a related by slightly different problem. After some digging through the MS KB article and several of the related KB links it appears the problem was something with the combination of the way the chm was compiled coupled with the fact that the system I am on is Windows 2003 Server x64.

I thought I should follow up here in case anyone else has a similar environment as I found a solution. To get around this, what I did was open each of the chm files in IE. It doesn't actually "open" it but rather pops up a dialog to either open, save, or cancel. If you choose save, and select a folder, then the new saved version opens just fine like a normal help file when you double click it. It will fail to open correctly again if moved though.

    Hello Alex,

I am glad you managed to open the file.
I've tried what the article suggests on the same configuration as yours and it worked but it's always nice to have another workaround in the bag.

    Thank you for the cooperation,
