If I understand correctly, you would like to have the drop down list displayed with transparent Backcolor, when in default state and when opened to have its default appearance with borders and fills. If this is your case and you want transparent backcolor, I am afraid that it cannot be achieved. The reason for this limitation is that the textbox does not support transparent colors. however, if you want to set it to some custom color, please refer to the attached project, where you can observe a sample implementation.
