Hi I am updating my website from .NET 2.0 to 4.0 and some of my controls are not working.

I did some research and saw that my version of Telerik (2008.3.1105.20) is out of date for this framework. If I was to update my Telerik would this fix my problems? I want to make sure before I go spending the money. Also which version of Telerik would work best for my situation?

It seems you are on the 2008 version, which is 5 years out of date.  There have been many updates since that time and unfortunately several breaking changes.  As a result, upgrading to the new version would not be a trivial task.  There are too many changes to try to list them all, but I would definitely put aside plenty of time for your team to devote to resolving them.  Finally, if you're going to go to the effort to update your solution, I would recommend the most current version of the tools.

Good luck!
Matt

P.S. Similarly, I would recommend upgrading to .NET 4.5 instead of 4.0.

Hello Frank,

As Matt said since 2008, there are too much improvements/changes in RadControls, so that it is difficult to list them all. However, you can have a look at the release history of the controls which provide a detailed information on the matter.

We highly recommend to always use the latest version of RadControls (currently this is version 2013.2.611). Regarding the version of .NET, currently we support .NET 3.5/4.0/4.5, depending on the operation system. For a detailed information, please refer to Supported Server-Side Frameworks article.

Regarding the issues that may arise after the upgrade, you can make a test with our trial version. Please feel free open a support ticket (during the trial period) or a forum thread, in case any questions related to RadControls occurs.

You can also find interesting our online demos and documentation.
