Hi Benjamin,
I tested the behavior when the select method is used. However, on my side, the method works as expected and there is no error in the console. Could you please try to modify the Dojo example linkedhere in order to replicate the behavior the way it is on your side and send it back? This way we could take a closer look and provide further assistance.
