One thing I loved about "someone elses product" was that I could select a chuck of a timeline (like you have now in q3), and it would show me the literal code where the problem was occurring annotated so I could see problem areas more visually.

The problem I have with the current visualization (TreeList) is that I don't read the code in my head in treelist format.  Do you know what I mean?  Like if I'm looking at a block of code annotated showing like "Hey this for loop is taking forever" then I could concentrate there.  Where if I'm looking at a grid\list and its showing me the calling method is "hot" then...well it's just not that awesome to work with.

Could it start to leverage JD to show us code?

    Hello Steve,

We know that trees and lists are useful only in handful of situations. We are discussing approaches to be more helpful to our users and "someone else's product"'s way is one of the things we keep an eye on. We are also researching other ideas. We aim to include at least one huge usability improvement in every Q and this is one such feature. But we are a small team and have so many great ideas to implement ;)

I promise you that in one way or another, the trees will step aside to a more humane presentation. But we may not be able to do this for our next Q.
