(I hope this is the right forum, I couldn't find any others more suitable)

We're the makers of Evolution ( and one of the things we have is a completely integrated web module that generates a customer's web site for them with full localization and depending on the web module you purchase it also includes a full portal for customers and vendors etc. to login to and see and interact with projects, tasks and appointments that they're involved with.

The other day I was looking for a better Upload control and realized that you guys have one. We've used your controls in the past on other custom projects and been very happy. At any rate, I was reading the licencing agreement and it indicates OEM rights.  What I'm not clear on is if this is an applicable case.

Our web module is distributed as an ASP.NET website solution that customers can take one of the default themes and customize and even add new pages and do everything you would do in ASP.NET. This means that they can take the base that we provide them and accomplish just about anything.  What I'm wondering is if the OEM licencing would allow me to bundle your control suite with our web module and allow customers to use it in an integrated fashion sort of like dotnetnuke or if they would have to by their own licence to be able to edit the web site?

Any clarification you might have would be greatly appreciated as your control suite would be the perfect solution to our needs!

    Hi James,

Thank you for considering telerik products!

With the recent changes in our licensing terms OEM rights are granted with our r.a.d.controls Developer Subscription and Source Code License, list price $999. You will be able to integrate r.a.d.upload in your web module provided that the following terms from our License agreement are met:

  3. You reasonably ensure that the SOFTWARE is not distributed in any form that allows it to be reused by any application other than your PACKAGED PRODUCT.
  4. Your need to duly inform your customers that they are not allowed to use the SOFTWARE independently from your PACKAGED PRODUCT.
  5. For use of the SOFTWARE in design-time (i.e. within a development environment such as Microsoft Visual Studio) your customers need to purchase the appropriate number of Developer Licenses from TELERIK.
  6. You need to include a valid copyright message in your PACKAGED PRODUCT in a location viewable by the end-users (e.g. "About" box).
  7. The SOFTWARE may not be distributed part of products that have the same or substantially the same primary functionality. (Examples: you may purchase telerik r.a.d.editor and create a blog application / component. However, you cannot wrap and offer it as a SharePoint web-part since its primary functionality is substantially the same).
  8. You can review the complete License Agreement here:
