I am looking into using ICENIUM to write an app that I would like to be ad supported.  Does anyone know who is providing this service for these types of apps?  I am not finding much information out there (or here).  Thanks!

Within Icenium, for now you would have to rely on publishers that allow you to use JavaScript to put their advertisements in your App. There are a few, use Google.

The AdMob plugin (Google) is unfortunately not yet supported in Icenium.

Thanks for the reply. What Google service are you referring to?  If AdMob is out and AdSense use in Mobile
Applications violates their policy (See last paragraph in the attached link), I’m not seeing another option.  What are the other services you are referring to? Thanks again.

Adsense is out of the question, as you have found. I have tried inmobi.com and it works nice, however sometimes their service doesn't supply an advertisement.

Another issue I had is that if an advertisement is clicked, you often can't get back to your app.

IMHO, Telerik spends way too much tome on renaming their toolsets (and making Mist almost impossible to use without enabling cookies in your browser), than addressing issues that are actually important to the developers.

Having said that, there is a forum discussion on AdMob here: http://www.telerik.com/forums/admob. It's not overwhelmingly informative, but gives you at least something. And, unfortunately, I haven't seen a complete sample app with AdMob plugin enabled and working anywhere yet.

Really? I got Admob working very very easily just by following the icenium custom plugin install instructions and admob documentation.... What's your issue with it?

You can not use it in simulator or companion app, you have to deploy to a real device to see it work...

Kevin I would love to see you impart your methods here because I have tried for a several days to get AdMob configured and actually serving ads with no success. There is another thread with detailed discussions about it including lots of posts from Admins and still no one has got it to work.

Interested to hear how you found it so easy. So you have an app publicly available on an app store that serves ads from AdMob?

Andrew

Hmm. interesting. I don't have the app live yet. (still working on finishing it up) But i got admob running successfully in test mode serving up their placeholder full screen ads... Have you gotten that far? It may in fact not be working with live ads, I will update this post however when I've tested it with live ads.

I import the plugin, do nothing else and my app won't compile for either Android or iOS. So not even referencing it at all in my code and I get compilation errors in the plugin itself.

Ah that make sense. I might check RevMob out however it seems it only works for iOS at the moment. To be honest I will settle for any ads to will see whether I can get it working.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

Andrew
