Hi

I've just downloaded RadControls for Windows Phone and I want to replace the Microsoft Toolkit controls with the RadControls counterparts. However I have noticed that the RadControls are missing some features found in Toolkit. For example there is no Highlighted VisualState in RadListPicker.

I hope you can add this in the next release.

Thanks

Gavin

Hi Gavin,

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately the Hightlighted state is not yet supported in RadListPicker. It is in our plans to provide support for it but currently I cannot bind to a specific date. Besides this, which are the other things stopping you from fully migrating to Telerik's Windows Phone suite? I'd be glad to further assist you.

I'm not sure, what Highlighted state you mean, but I have just discovered this issue with ListPicker.

By default in Windows Phone, when you click some built-in listpicker and hold your tap, the listPicker shows white highlighting until the tap is released. This works in TimePicker, but not in ListPicker.

You can test it in your Telerik Constrols app for WP7 - open the first page for ListPicker samples. Tap and hold the TimePicker - it's white now. Tap and hold the ListPicker - it's still gray.

The expected behavior should be same as in the built/in Alarm application - white after tap.

Hello Gavin,

Thank you for the clarification.  That's the state I had in mind. We will try to provide the functionality described by you for our official Q2 2012 release. Let me know if this is ok with your time frame.

Hi Kiril

"Besides this, which are the other things stopping you from fully migrating to Telerik's Windows Phone suite"

The follow events are missing from Application Frame (page transition): BeginTransition and EndTransition which are available in Microsoft Toolkit.

Finally, I had hoped that RadControls could have replaced Microsoft Toolkit. But I needed the Gesture class in Toolkit. RadControls is great but it cannot replace Toolkit. If I have a project that does not require gestures then I'll have no hesitation in using RadControls.

Hi Gavin,

Thank you very much for the valuable feedback. The BeginTransition and EndTransition events will be great additions to the ApplicationFrame. I've added a feature request in our back log. However currently I cannot bind to an existing release date, so as soon as we schedule the implementation of those events we will let you know.
