Hi,
I am trying to sync a project in Teampulse with TFS. When I do so, I get an error message thrown back at me that looks like this:
Field 'Microsoft.VSTS.Common.DescriptionHtml' does not exist in work item type 'User Story'
Field 'Microsoft.VSTS.Common.DescriptionHtml' does not exist in work item type 'Task'
I have tried adding these two fields in TFS, but with little success. Can anyone point me in a direction to fix these errors and successfully sync Teampulse with TFS?
Thanks

Hi Adam,
The integration service with TFS will attempt to move description information in HTML format between TeamPulse and TFS for the TeamPulse and Scrum project templates. In order for this to happen the fields referenced in the error message must exist in the TFS template.
Please let me know which project template you are using in TeamPulse and which TFS template type you are mapping to in TFS. Are you sync'ing with a customized TFS template?
Kind regards,
Robert Régnier

I've been playing around for awhile, and I figured out that my two templates were not the same in TFS and TeamPulse. So I created a new project in TeamPulse with an Agile template, and then was able to successfully sync it to my project in TFS.
Even though now my TeamPulse synced with TFS, the user stories, tasks, etc. that I added to my TeamPulse project are not showing up in TFS.

Hello Adam,
I'm glad you got the templates matching up. Regarding the stories not showing up, you must mark them as Sync with TFS in the story properties in order them to be brought over. Can you double check that you've done this? Let me know how it goes.
All the best,

Thank you for your help! I did not know about that "Sync with TFS" checkbox in the story properties. It's all working for me now.

Hi Adam,
By default TeamPulse doesn't sync all stories but instead allows users to mature their stories and only get them in TFS once they are mature enough to be implemented (by setting the flag manually). Some organizations prefer to sync everything in which case we've built in a setting so that new items are automatically marked for sync'ing with TFS. This setting can be found by going to the Settings area found in the Settings tab. Here click on the Edit Advanced Settings link and find an entry that looks like:
<SynchronizationSettings AutoSyncNewEntities="false" />
Set the value to true and save the changes and any new entities that you create will automatically be marked for sync'ing with TFS.
Best wishes,
Robert Régnier
